Stage 1: Registration
Yes, you can request a reevaluation by writing to us at info@gowexint.com. Its cost is 50% of what you paid for your first evaluation.
The admission team will review availability and timing of the season to coordinate with you. Your advisor will confirm the amount and payment instructions before scheduling it.
A new interview does not guarantee a different result. Take advantage of feedback to reinforce what you need to improve. We want you to arrive better prepared for this new opportunity!
Request an extension from your advisor at least two weeks before the due date. Explain your situation and when you could make the payment so we can assess your request.
The extension requires approval: requesting it does not automatically change your payment date. If an unforeseen event arises when there is less time, notify us immediately.
Keep in mind that a change in your schedule may delay the process or affect access to opportunities that depend on your payments and available spaces.
You have a maximum of 15 business days from when you receive your Welcome Package, unless your advisor indicates a shorter deadline due to the progress of the season or a deadline from the employer or sponsor.
Check the package as soon as you receive it and send complete, legible documents with correct information. If you anticipate a difficulty, please let us know before the deadline so we can guide you.

Yes! You can register without a passport or while you process your renewal, but you must have it ready and current before your employer stage begins.
The ideal is to have it from registration. If you reach out to employers without the document, you will not be able to advance and your process will be delayed, which can affect the opportunities available to you.

If you miss the initial briefing, you must attend an upcoming session before entering the program, because it is a mandatory admission requirement. Write to us to find out the next available date.

Work and Travel is a cultural exchange program that allows you to practice English, meet people, gain independence and gain work experience. Temporary employment is part of that experience, but it does not guarantee profits or recovery of the investment.

Stage 2: Employers
Interviews are generally conducted between January and July.
Your interview will be coordinated within the selection process of each employer, according to the vacancies, your profile, your available dates and your progress in the program.
Your advisor will let you know when it is time to move forward and how to prepare. Not all participants or all employers have the same interview dates.
You can review them when the employer fair opens, between January to March.
This access is available with the Go Job Arranged and requires that your process be ready for the employers stage. We'll tell you how to enter, review offers, and communicate your preferences.
The web map shows destinations and references from previous seasons. The vacancies available for your call are confirmed during your process.
You will be able to access new interviews at no extra cost, as long as there are employers and vacancies compatible with your profile and enough time within the season.
First we prioritize that all participants have a first interview. Once that priority is met, we coordinate additional opportunities based on availability.
There is no fixed limit of interviews. We will review with you what you can improve and what alternatives exist. A first interview without hiring can also help you better prepare for the next one!
No, the cost of accommodation is not included in the program fee. Some employers offer housing or help coordinate it; In other cases you will have to look for an option.
Just because the employer offers accommodation does not mean it is free. Review the rent, deposit, included utilities, location, and transportation to work before you commit.
If you need to search on your own, you must actively participate in the search and coordinate the requirements with your sponsor. Go Wex will guide you and the sponsor will also provide you with support in the corresponding aspects of accommodation and transportation. Check the conditions before booking or making a payment.
Yes, you can indicate your preferences among the available opportunities, but placement will depend on your profile, available positions and the employer's selection.
In Go Job Arranged you will review offers compatible with your level of English and your dates. We will guide you about the functions and conditions so that you can choose with clear information.
Interview access also considers process criteria, including payment priority order where applicable. Indicating a preference does not reserve a position.
If you already have your own job offer or would like to return to a previous employer, ask about Go Self Arranged or Go Returnee, which have a different process.
As a reference, work is carried out approximately between 32 and 40 hours per week. However, that amount is not guaranteed: hours may vary depending on the employer, demand, weather and the time of the season. Overtime is not guaranteed either.
Before accepting, review the hours provided in your job offer and organize your budget without depending on additional shifts.
If during the program you receive considerably fewer hours than those indicated in your offer, notify the employer and your sponsor so that they can review the situation and guide you.
Not necessarily. There are positions that do not require previous experience, while others do require certain skills, experience or a specific level of English.
If you have already worked, tell it in your interview: it can help you demonstrate responsibility, customer service or teamwork.
If it will be your first work experience, focus on your skills, your willingness to learn, and your interest in the position. The important thing is to find an opportunity compatible with your profile and prepare well for the interview!

We work with partner employers at hotels, resorts, restaurants, shops, ski resorts and amusement parks offering positions in customer service, sales, cleaning, kitchen support, food and beverage service and operations assistance. Available opportunities vary by season.
Each position has its own requirements for English, experience, hours and physical effort. Before choosing, review the functions and conditions of the offer. Your advisor will help you identify options that fit your profile.
Yes, as long as your sponsor reviews and authorizes it before you start, and that you can fulfill your main job.

No. During the Grace Period you are not allowed to work, even if your employer wants to give you more shifts.
It is a period of up to 30 days after successfully completing the program to prepare your departure and carry out tourist activities within the United States. It does not extend your contract or your authorized work dates.

If you are selected and accept the offer, you continue your process with that employer. If you are not selected, we will review other opportunities based on availability and seasonal priorities.

Once you sign your job offer (GOL), your position and the employer with whom you will participate in the program are defined. A change before the trip solely due to personal preference is not applicable.

Change requests due to exceptional circumstances may be evaluated and will require prior approval from the sponsor, in accordance with the conditions of the program and the availability of other positions. Requesting a change does not guarantee that it will be approved.
Stage 3: Sponsor
Go Wex coordinates your application with the sponsor assigned to your job offer, profile and program option. Your advisor will tell you which sponsor it is and how to complete its application.
The sponsor is an organization authorized by the U.S. Department of State. It assesses your eligibility and, if it approves your participation, issues your DS-2019. It will also be an important contact during your stay for program-related matters.
We support you through the process; the sponsor makes the final assessment and approval.
Yes. The sponsor may reject your application if you do not meet their eligibility, English, documentation or deadline requirements.
The sponsor may also reject an application if it finds inconsistent, false or altered information. Being selected by an employer does not replace this assessment.
Review each document, answer honestly and ask any questions before sending it. If you detect an error, let us know as soon as possible so we can guide you on how to correct it.
You could have a new chance, but it depends on the authorization of the sponsor. It is not guaranteed.

Yes. The sponsor may terminate your participation if you fail to comply with the conditions of the program or its requirements.
Working without authorization, presenting false information or committing a serious infraction are situations that can put your continuity at risk. A termination may affect your immigration status and your departure from the United States, and you should not assume that you will retain the grace period.
Respond to the sponsor's communications and ask any questions in time. If you have a difficulty, please report it for guidance on how to proceed.
Without the approval of the sponsor, you will not be able to continue with the J-1 process on that application. Your advisor will review the reason with you and whether there is any correction or alternative available.
Go Wex accompanies you in the management, but the final decision corresponds to the sponsor and we cannot guarantee its approval or the possibility of processing a new request with another entity.
If you cannot continue, we will explain how to close your process and what refund corresponds, if any, according to the Terms and Conditions accepted when registering.
Stage 4: Visa & Travel
Go Wex guides you in managing your consular appointment. Your advisor will indicate the steps, documents and payments that you must complete according to the procedure in your country.
Appointment availability and assignment depend on the consular system. Having everything ready helps avoid delays on your part, but it does not ensure a specific date.
Follow your advisor's instructions before creating accounts, duplicating requests or modifying an appointment.

To complete the DS-160 you will receive a detailed PDF guide and personalized assistance from your advisor. We will also explain the activities and mock interviews available for your intake.
Visa approval depends exclusively on the consular officer. Our support seeks to ensure that you arrive prepared, with clear information and confidence to explain your plans honestly.

No, you cannot freely choose a consular interview date. Your appointment is scheduled according to the availability of the consular system and the procedure that corresponds to your request.

The DS-160 is the electronic application form for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa , including the J-1. You provide your personal details and the background information required for your application.
It is different from DS-2019, which is the document issued by the sponsor for your participation in the exchange program.

Intern is aimed at students who have completed two-thirds of their degree or graduates who begin the program within 12 months of graduation. Trainee is aimed at graduates with at least one year of related experience, or non-degree holders with five years of experience in their field.
The duration depends on your category, your professional area and the training plan approved by the sponsor. The options we offer start at 3 months. Intern allows up to 12 months; Trainee, up to 18 months in areas that allow it. In Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary, the maximum is 12 months. The duration is agreed before the trip and cannot be chosen independently of the training plan.
Yes. Go Self Arranged allows you to present your own offer related to your professional field. Go Wex can assist the company to specify the Training Plan. In Go Job Arranged you access interviews with Go Wex host companies.

Yes, it may be possible, but having participated in WAT does not automatically qualify you for IAT. The program must provide new skills and be related to your studies or professional career. Intern is aimed at higher education students or recent graduates. For Trainee you need a higher education degree or certificate and at least one year of related experience outside the United States, or five years of industry experience outside the United States if you do not have that training. We will evaluate your profile and the training plan with the sponsor.
As a reference for the opportunities we manage, we usually evaluate profiles up to 27–28 years old for Intern and up to 35 years old for Trainee. These ages are not a general limit for the J-1 visa nor do they imply an automatic rejection if you exceed them. The evaluation also considers your studies, experience, professional objectives and the criteria of the sponsor and the host company. Contact us to review your case.
No. In the J-1 Intern and Trainee categories you can only carry out the training activities authorized by your sponsor and provided for in your training plan. It is not permitted to have a second job outside of the program.
For reference, the process usually takes between 3 and 4 months from the time you are selected by a host company to the trip. The deadline may vary depending on the delivery of documents, the approval of the sponsor, the availability of consular appointments and the agreed start date.
